Keep Going

Based on how you answered, replanting is probably not your road. That is worth saying plainly, and it is not a knock on you.

Replanting asks for a specific and fairly unusual wiring: a high tolerance for grief, comfort leading people who did not choose you, and the patience to spend a year rebuilding trust before anything visible happens. Most excellent pastors are not built for it. That is a fit question, not a verdict on your calling.

What This Means

Reading this result

  • Your calling isn't in question. Your fit for one specific assignment is.
  • Replanting is one narrow lane in a very wide field of ministry
  • The churches that need a replanter need someone wired for a hard, slow, lonely first year
  • Wanting to help a dying church and being built to lead one are different things
Where You Might Thrive

Other roads worth praying about

  • Church planting. Starting something new, with people who chose to come.
  • Revitalization. Leading a struggling but still-healthy church through renewal, where you inherit goodwill instead of grief.
  • Established ministry. Pastoring well over decades is not a lesser calling. It is the one most churches actually need.
  • Partner Church leadership. Keep reading. There's a role here for you.
Ask Yourself

Three questions worth sitting with

  • Am I drawn to replanting, or drawn to being needed?
  • Where have I been most fruitful, and what did that season ask of me?
  • Who in my life will tell me the truth about my wiring?

An evaluation can measure fit. It cannot measure calling. If God has been stirring something in you, don't let a score settle it. Let it start a conversation.

Worth Saying

The Kingdom needs far more faithful pastors than it needs replanters.

Next Steps

There's still a seat at this table.

Not being a replanter doesn't put you outside this work. Some of the most important people in a Fresh Start never lead one.

01

Lead a Partner Church instead

Every replant requires a healthy church standing beside it: encouragement, resources, sometimes people. If you're pastoring a healthy church, or heading toward one, that's a role we desperately need filled. The Partner Church Certification opens October 2026.

02

Stay in the Network

Pastors and partner churches trading what's working and what isn't. Free to join. You'll learn things worth knowing wherever you end up.

03

Take this again if the season changes

Wiring doesn't change much. Circumstances do. If you find yourself three years from now standing in front of a church that's out of runway, come back and take it again.
