The Framework
The 12 Markers of a Fresh Start
Three stages get a church to the starting line. These twelve markers are the road after it.
They are not a checklist to rush. Most replants work through them over two to three years, and the order matters more than the speed. A church that skips Marker 01 cannot do Marker 09.
Holy Desperation
A culture of prayer and fasting, with leaders modeling surrender before they ask it of anyone else.
Death to Dream
Name honestly what is no longer working, make room to grieve it, and begin picturing what God does next.
The Partner Church
A healthy nearby church bringing people, resources and encouragement, with the scope agreed up front.
New Leadership and Advisory Team
Leaders chosen for the new vision, supported by seasoned pastors, district leaders and the partner church.
Vision and Prayer
A vision the congregation can repeat, carried by prayer walks, twenty one days of prayer and fasting, and meetings that mobilize.
Ownership and Care
Walk closely with the people this costs the most, and help the legacy congregation find their place in what is coming.
Renovation or Relocation
Assess the building honestly, decide whether to renovate or move, then raise the funds and the volunteers to do it.
Developing a Ministry Plan
Outreach, discipleship and community service, each with someone accountable, reviewed often enough to stay true.
The Launch Team
Volunteers empowered for specific roles, clear from the start about how long they are committing to serve.
Missional Presence
Find what the neighborhood actually needs, meet it, and build a church where inviting a neighbor feels natural.
Launch to Make a Difference
Plan the launch, promote it widely, and have a follow up ready for the guests who walk in that morning.
Celebrate Well
Tell the stories out loud, from the platform, in the newsletter and online. Celebration is a discipline.
These markers begin where a church crosses the three stages of holy desperation.
